Theatre SKAM has two buildings in downtown Victoria: the SKAM Satellite Studio, located at 849 Fort Street, and Studio 846, situated at 846 Broughton Street. Operating these vital arts spaces would not be possible without the generous support of our landlord, and largest sponsor, PARC Retirement Living. Annual financial support from the City of Victoria enables us to offer subsidized rental rates that are priced at or below our operating costs. 

SKAM Satellite Studio
Located at 849 Fort Street, the Satellite Studio is a black-box theatre with an audience capacity of 40 (the maximum building occupancy is 50). The building is located at street level, featuring an accessible entrance and two washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. Operational since 2019, the building is available for rehearsals and performance activities. The black-box studio is equipped with theatre lights and a sound system. Set up in proscenium orientation, it features 40 movable seats on risers and a stage area of approximately 22 feet wide by 16.75 feet deep(368.5 sq ft), along with a small backstage area of 12 feet wide by 4 feet deep (48 sq ft). The three front lobby rooms provide ample space for front of house, box office, and concession, and can also be booked for use as an art gallery at a reduced rate.

Studio 846
Located at 846 Broughton Street, Studio 846 is our two-story performance creation hub. The main floor is fully accessible with a button-activated automatic front door and two washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. It features two Teaching/Rehearsal spaces: the Ocean Room (21 feet by 30 feet, 630 sqft) and the Forest Room (15 feet by 25 feet, 375 sqft). Both rooms feature dimmable LED ceiling lights and are equipped with a wall-mounted TV with soundbar, whiteboard, and access to tables and chairs. The Ocean Room is also equipped with three dance mirrors. The main floor also features a fully accessible office, bike parking, and a large casual meeting space equipped with a kitchenette and height-adjustable table. The second floor, which is unfortunately only accessible by stairs, is home to offices utilized by Theatre SKAM and other Victoria-based arts and non-profit organizations. Equipped with a small kitchenette and two washrooms, it features a small Conference room (Meeting Room A – 13 feet by 11 feet, 143 sqft), a Reading room (Meeting Room E – 10 feet by 11 feet, 110 sqft) and a large open Reception area (10 feet by 47 feet, 470 sqft). The Reception Area has a TV with HDMI and video meeting capabilities (this can be moved into the conference room if needed) and access to tables and chairs. This area is only available for rent on the weekends. The Conference Room is set up with tables and chairs, perfect for reads and meetings. The space can be cleared for small rehearsals as well. It has a maximum capacity of 10 people. The Reading Room has couches and reading material, including a script library and other theatre related literature, available to use for casual reads, audition prep, and meetings. Maximum capacity of 8 people. Please note that if you choose to only rent the Reception Area the two small rooms are available to other renters and vice versa. The main floor and second floor each have a maximum occupancy capacity of 50.
