2022 Teaching Artist Bios

Emily Campbell

Emily [she/they] is so excited to work with the camps this summer. This is Emily’s 3rd time working with Theatre SKAM, they worked as a site manager for the 2021 SKAMpede and as a technician for SKAM’s Labyrinth, and now here in support of our brilliant SKAMpers! Emily’s past experiences in theatre are varied (they pride themselves on becoming a jack-of-all-trades in the theatre industry), she has worked as a Head Electrician on OthelloLove and Information, and Problem Child (Phoenix Theatre). She was the director of The Queen of Crystals and When Was the Last Time You Said Hello? (SATCo). They also Stream Directed The Waste Land (Phoenix Theatre). Emily is so excited to work her talents in support of all our campers this summer!

Andrew Shepherd

Andrew [he/him] is an Actor, Sound Designer, and Playwright attending the University of Victoria. His favourite roles from the past include Mr. Smee in Peter Pan, Sir Andrew Aguecheeck in Twelfth Night, and recently was part of the ensemble for the University of Victoria’s stage adaptation of TS Eliot’s The Waste Land. Andrew is so happy to bring his skills to SKAMP this year and can’t wait to work with all the outstanding students.

Jaeden Walton

Jaeden [they/them] is excited to be teaching for the first time at this year’s SKAMP, and they are very excited to teach the wonderful world of theatre! Theatre has been a huge part of Jaeden’s life ever since they were young, and they want to spread the joy that theatre has brought them to the students here at Theatre SKAM! Jaeden is a student at the University of Victoria and is currently completing their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design, with plans to pursue a Bachelor of Education afterward. So look out Victoria! These campers are ready to knock your socks off with one incredible performance!

Sophia Radford

Sophia [she/her] is an actor, director, and musician who just graduated from the University of Victoria with a BFA in Theatre. She is passionate about fostering a love of the arts in the next generation. Sophia is so excited to return to Theatre SKAM and can’t wait to meet all of the campers!

Thomas Moore

Thomas [he/they] is a current theatre student at UVic and is super excited to be a part of SKAM Camp this summer! Past credits include SATCo’s Horse Girl and Along for the Bride at the Edmonton Fringe. Thomas enjoys improv, directing, and design but is most interested in theatre education and running drama programs such as SKAM camp.

Samantha Frew

Samantha [she/her] is an aspiring actress, writer, and director from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. Growing up, Samantha found her love for the performing arts in local camps much like SKAM. She’s thrilled to have it all come full circle, now passing down her knowledge to the next generation of artists.

Nathan Corpus

Nathan [he/him] is a young director, actor and playwright who is super excited to work with the SKAM team again this year. Nathan is an activist and artist who strongly believes in art being impactful as a form of social change and is so happy to share the healing, beautiful aspects of theatre with his students. This is his third year as a summer teaching artist with SKAM, he had a blast counselling the last few years and he can’t wait to meet this years campers!
