Improv for Ages 9 – 13
- Location: Ocean Room, SKAM Studio 846 | Runs: September 21 – November 09, 2023 | Day: Thursday | Time: 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
- Description: Improvisational theatre is a form of theatre in which actors perform without a script, providing their own lines of dialogue and actions. Although this style of acting can be dramatic or comedic, modern improv has been popularized by the comedic improv games and short scenes performed in the TV show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?; and Theatresports. In this class students will explore the fundamentals of improv principles such as trust, spontaneity, commitment, teamwork, and storytelling, and how to apply them to short comedic scenes and improv games. And though everyone loves a good poop joke, we’ll also really work at getting beyond potty humour. The classes will culminate in a sharing of their work before a small audience.
