Lynnéa Chan – Pop-Up Director
Lynnéa Chan (she/her) is a queer, Chinese-Canadian theatre artist, trained vocalist, and theatre graduate of the University of Victoria. Through directing, writing, and performance, Lynnéa hopes to create stories that are provocative, loving, and dedicated to casual diversity. Performance credits include Home Delivery: Pop-Up Theatre(Theatre SKAM), The Children’s Hour (Phoenix Theatre), Ngaii Duk (SATCo), The Open Gate (Bottled Theatre), and It’ll Come To Me (Theatre SKAM). Past writing work includes Tides (LEAP), and Almond Eyes (Telling It Bent). As a past performer of the Pop-Up Theatre, Lynnéa is thrilled to be taking on a directorial role this year. She spends her spare time baking, making music, and doing needlecraft. She hopes you enjoy the shows!
Kendra Bidwell – Musical Director
Kendra Bidwell (she/her) is an actor, dancer, singer and musician from Victoria, BC. After graduating from Company C at the Canadian College of Performing Arts she has had the privilege to stage manage Stage Door (CCPA), assistant music direct Cabaret (Company C), portray princesses with Enchanted Fables, tour with Jubilations Dinner Theatre in Buddy Holly’s Happy Days, and teach children theatre at Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People and Theatre SKAM. After performing with the pop-up team for the past two summers, Kendra is thrilled to music direct this year’s amazing team!
Emerging Artists
Kaelan Bain
Kaelan (he/him) is an actor and writer, born in the Bahamas and raised in the Turks and Caicos Islands. He migrated to Canada in 2016, first to Alberta–where he lived in a small rural town performing in music festivals before moving to British Colombia for university, for which he’s completed a four-year degree at the University of Victoria.
Zoe Salvin
Zoe (she/they) is a theatre artist going into her final year of a double major in Theatre Performance and English at the University of Victoria. She is extremely passionate about accessible theatre, and is thrilled to be creating with SKAM this summer. As well as acting, Zoe enjoys design and production, and recently assistant set designed A Kind of Apocalypse (SATCo). Recent acting credits include When Was the Last Time You Said Hello?, Hey There Mr. Moon, Ngaii Duk (SATCo), Love and Information, and The Children’s Hour (Phoenix).
Kaylee Cavanagh
Kaylee (she/her), originally from Calgary, is a performer, writer, director, and designer in her fourth year of UVIC’s BFA Theatre Program. She is also an improviser and comedian and is excited to bring these passions to the Pop-Up theatre this summer. Recent performance credits include ‘The Waste Land‘ (UVIC Phoenix Theatres), ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ (Greenworld Theatre Co), and ‘Death by Horoscope‘ (UVIC SATCo). In her spare time she is half of the sketch comedy duo ‘We’ll Call You Back’, and performs stand-up in Victoria.
Becky Miner
Becky (she/her), currently going into her last year of UVIC’s BFA Theatre Program, is a theatre artist originally from Calgary who moved to Victoria to pursue her passion for the stage. Along with performance, Becky has a love for front of house management and is currently taking on the role of AGM for the Student Alternative theatre company in the 2022/23 year. Her recent performance credits include ‘Shakespeare’s Women’ (UVIC Phoenic Theatre), Rain Carnation (SatCo), and ‘Comedy of Errors’ (UVSS Drama). Becky is thrilled to bring joyful, inviting, and thought proving pieces to the pop up theatre this summer and she hopes you enjoy the show!
