Have you ever wanted to help develop a SKAM show?

Do you love road trips? Theatre? Filling out surveys? (Okay, maybe not that last one–but we promise it’s worth it!)

Theatre SKAM Co-Artistic Producer Logan Swain is developing a new show, Road Trip Verbatim (working title) and he needs your help!

We’re looking for people to fill out a short survey about road trip memories and favourite songs. The answers will serve as source material for the show (“verbatim storytelling”) and you get to contribute to the development of a show!

Aside from the satisfaction of knowing you helped support the creation of a new show you will also get:

  • An invite to future staged readings and/or workshop showings
  • Acknowledgement in the program and on SKAM’s website for the premiere production
  • A chance to win a SKAM prize pack (two SKAMpede water bottles and tickets to SKAMpede!)

About the Show

Have you ever noticed how some conversations are easier to have while driving to a far-off destination? Road Trip Verbatim is an experiential celebration of road trips, storytelling, and music. The show combines real road trip stories and video footage in a series of vignettes weaved together by a narrator, the GPS.

Road Trip Verbatim was inspired by yearly family road trips to go hunting in BC’s Interior and Kootenay regions and the realization that very few University peers had experienced family road trips growing up.

Road Trip Verbatim aims to show on stage the powerful things we learn about ourselves, each other, and the land we travel through when the journey is the destination.
