Acting and Story Creation (Ages 5-8)

January 11 – March 8 (8 classes)   |  Mondays 1 – 2 p.m

SKAM Satellite Studio – 849 Fort St.

Through drama games, creative movement, storytelling and dramatic role-play, children will explore the joy of creation and self-expression in this class. The teaching artist joins in performances as narrator while gently encouraging expression and collaboration skills in a fun and supportive environment. This is a great class for young creative minds!

This is a class for aspiring young actors and creative minds to gain confidence, expression, and collaboration skills through story creation. A supportive teaching artist will guide students to understand their own expression and skills through fun games in movement, voice, improvisation, cooperative dramatic development and stage awareness. Part of the session will focus on rehearsing a simple performance!


Filmmaking (Ages 8-12)

January 19 – March 9 (8 classes)  |  Tuesdays 12:30 – 2 p.m

For young, aspiring filmmakers and performers who want to learn the basics of on-camera acting work and how to shoot film sequences together. Students will experience the excitement on both sides of the camera as they gain experience shooting scenes, mini commercials, and short films. Attendance is very important for continuity and preparation. Students will end the term with a screening of their short film that they created collectively. A link to final films will be sent to all families.




Collaborative Playwriting (Ages 9-12)

January 21  –  March 11 (8 classes)  |  Thursdays 11:00  – 12:30 pm

Teacher: Anna Marie Anderson

For Home Learners who want an in-depth immersion into playwriting from the comfort of their home. The teaching artist will guide participants through the process of creating and rehearsing their own play! This class involves improvisation, writing and collaborative discussion. The teaching  artist will work to meet each student’s level of ability in reading, writing, creating, and performing. This class is open to anyone across Canada!



Improv Games (Ages 9-12)

January 11  –  March 8 (8 classes)  |  Mondays 1 – 2 pm

Teacher: Monica Ogden
Price: $208  $187 until Dec. 18!

This online class is thoughtfully designed so that students can explore theatre and improv through games and exercises in the comfort of their home. Students practice listening skills and being theatrical, build a catalogue of games, and create stories on the fly. Monica is a supportive and knowledgeable teaching artist, theatre/film actor, improvisor, workshop coach and Youtuber who has won awards for her story-telling. Registration is open to anyone across Canada!
