An active class that can be completed from the comfort of home, students will work both individually and collectively to create and imagine movements, voices and worlds. Filmmaking (Ages 8-12)
January 26 – March 9 (7 classes) | Tuesdays 4:00 – 5:30 p.m
Teacher: Matthew Payne
Young aspiring filmmakers and performers will be delighted to take part in our new online film class. With Zoom as our platform for recording, we’ll make a wacky newscast, a wild cooking show with corny judges, and other short recorded works. (We’ll aim to make at least six short shows in total). Learn some basic film tricks like putting on a hat with no hands and how to make a light sabre fly into your hand. Students will learn about both sides of the camera and what it takes to act in and shoot a scene, mini commercials, and short films. The training will help develop confidence and communication skills and allows students to explore their potential in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. Students will need access to a laptop or computer, a bit of space to stand and move about, and, if possible, a bit of privacy from other family members and pets.
For students interested in making and editing their own films, please reach out to Kate, email@example.com. We’d be happy to arrange some private coaching for this!
